RNA – Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani has emphasized that God, through His prophets, called on mankind to unite. In the Holy Quran, God also called on Muslims to unite and warned them against creating intrigue and division as they are the causes of corruption, sedition and allow foreigners to achieve dominance over the Muslim community.

His Eminence emphasized that division leads to the destruction of Islamic society. “God has made every person in any religion or school of thought useful and beneficial and blessed in society and differences annul these blessings of God and conceal His graces.”

He added that unity has many effects on society. In the Holy Quran, God Almighty said: “And obey God and His Apostle, and do not dispute, or you will lose heart and your power will be gone...” [8:46] Unity enhances the prestige of society and leads to prosperity and progress.

Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani emphasized that good relations and links between countries will have positive impacts on the market and increase the level of trade, and added that provoking differences between countries and peoples harms both parties and leads to backwardness and underdevelopment.

He added that unity is a natural instinct for mankind as humans are inherently social beings and want to communicate with others and because of this, God has invited all mankind to monotheism and unity under the shadow of a social system.

The revered source of emulation also stressed the need to follow the path of God and to resolve differences through courteous dialogue, stating that we must respect others viewpoints. Islam came to bring people together and promotes unity but this does not mean that individuals cannot have their own opinions.
