The World Congress on Extremism and Takfiri Movements in the Islamic Scholars’ View was opened at The Great Prophet (S) Conference Hall in Qom with the presence of numerous Iranian and international figures.

 

This two-day congress was commenced by the announcement of the schedule of the congress by the executive secretary of the congress and by the opening speech given by Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi. The congress will, then, proceed by the establishment of four committees addressing issues with regard to genealogy, the study of the roots of convictions, the Takfiri movements and politics, and the study of the ways out of the Takfiri tumult.

 

The closing ceremony of this congress will be held on November 24th that will include the closing speech by Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani and in the end the resolution of the congress will be recited.

 

It is worth noting that the preparations for this congress started two years ago and during this period three pre-summits were held in Syria, Pakistan and Iraq and the main summit is held on November 23rd and 24th at the Great Prophet (S) Conference Hall in Qom with the presence of 315 Muftis from more than 80 countries of the world as well as some guests from Iran.
