RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Shaykh Abdul-Naser al-Jabbari, a Lebanese Sunni scholar and the secretary-general of the Amal Movement, discussed the growth of the Takfiri terrorist group ISIL throughout the Islamic world.

“The thoughts of ISIL, if we can even call them thoughts, are very informative. We cannot call ISIL a sudden phenomenon, rather they are a result of thoughts which were established over 60 years ago with the Wahhabi ideology which is based on an ideology of excommunication and murder.

“Wahhabism was created by the United Kingdom and the Zionist regime, and along with phenomena such as ISIL, they are a dangerous current which exists in the Islamic world,” Shaykh al-Jabbari added.

The renowned scholar referred to the domination of ISIL in several Iraqi cities. “The previous Iraqi administration was a mistake and a number of people protested regarding this issues and wanted in any way possible to change the system, which is also considered a great mistake.”

“Politicians must be at the peak of vigilance and not push the people toward the edge and must keep the people within the frame of intellect and logic,” Shaykh al-Jabbari added.

Shaykh al-Jabbari also stated that Takfiris have left the religion of Islam. He emphasized that Muslim scholars from around the world must realize this. Whoever testifies that “there is no god but God” and “Muhammad is the messenger of God” is a Muslim and their blood and property must be respected.

He emphasized that when the Prophet Muhammad entered Makkah, it was filled with many enemies of Islam but the Prophet did not use his sword. When one of the Prophet’s companions stated “today is the day of vengeance,” the Prophet rebuked him, stating “no, today is the day of mercy.”

Regarding the possibility of the repetition of the experiences of Iraq and Syria in Lebanon, Shaykh al-Jabbari stated: “With the existence of Hezbollah and the groups of mujahidin [warriors], Lebanon has a greater capacity to resist than Iraq and Syria do. Considering that Lebanon has experienced many wars, the likelihood of similar events occurring in Lebanon is very unlikely.”

Also, regarding the differences between several political groups and the Islamic Resistance [Hezbollah] in Lebanon, Shaykh al-Jabbari explained: “Some assume that they by using ISIL, they can destroy the Islamic Resistance. They must know that by fanning the flames of Takfirism, they will also burn themselves.”
