RNA - Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudry Nisar’s stated that "Believing in the fact that the Islamic State (IS) militant group is not in Pakistan is a shortsighted perspective. IS does not need to send individuals to Pakistan or establish a setup here."
The statement came a day after rumours spread about four ISIS flags being raised near the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in the city of Taxila.
"It is already present in the form of the various extremist Sunni sectarian organisations that are wholly beholden to the idea of violent, global war in the name of religion." Rasa News quoted Pakistani Interior Minister as saying.
He also said that IS has become the "ideological flag-bearer for extremist ideologues and their brainwashed, bloodthirsty followers."
“It is not ghosts or vampires that are killing Shias, Ahmedis and other minority religious communities in Pakistan,” he said, “it is real individuals whose aims and means align perfectly with IS’s ideology. They are IS’s fifth column and today they are ready to strike at IS’s command.”
“Denying the reality of IS’s ideological draw would be a fatal mistake.” The Interior Minister of Pakistan claims, adding that the government needs to “move to crack down on extremist militias and it needs to do so soon.”
