RNA - According to PressTV, Ghulam Raza Naqvi was the head of Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan, a former political party and a Shia Islamic resistance group that was formed to protect the Shia organizations from the threat of takfiri extremist groups.
Yet 18 years in jail have not moved him away from his vision of a united Muslim state in Pakistan. Ghulam Raza Naqvi further added that the ongoing tensions between Sunni and Shia Muslims is not an act orchestrated by the people of Pakistan or any other group.
He emphasized that these takfiri groups are governed, funded and organized by the western countries, who want to keep such issues alive and sew seeds of dividision among Muslims.
Though Allama Ghulam Raza Naqvi is not well and has had major health issues while in jail he still aims to revive his vision of Shia and Sunni unity and form a strong Muslim state. Syed Ghulam Raza Naqvi was in prison because he fought to protect Shias from extremist groups. But even after spending 18 years behind the bars, he says he is still ready to lead Shia protection movements and fight against the evil forces.
