RNA – Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mahmoud Alavi, has warned extremists who are trying to stir up sectarian differences in the country that they will be brought to justice for their acts of sedition.

 

During a press conference in Tehran, Hujjat al-Islam Alavi warned against extremist elements among both Shi’ite and Sunni Muslims. He also stressed upon the comments of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei) on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, where His Eminence mentioned that the enemies are plotting to create sedition by exaggerating the differences between Shi’ite and Sunni Muslims. “This is one of their most important goals,” he stated.

 

He added that anyone who tries to inflame the differences between the two Islamic sects, whether intentional or unintentional, serves the goals of the enemy. “Sowing differences between Muslims is a grave mistake,” he stated, according to Rasa News Agency.

 

Hujjat al-Islam Alavi added that the Ministry of Intelligence cannot be indifferent about these of acts of sabotage because they are part of the plans directed by Western intelligence agencies. He continued, saying that that there are many satellite channels that broadcast programs which incompatible with the unity of the worldwide Islamic community. Many of these satellite channel are directed by British intelligence.

 

He explained that Iranian security agencies closely monitor the movements and links to Western intelligence services with extremist elements and take any required action in a timely manner. He also stressed that he relevant authorities shut down the offices of satellite channels which broadcast programs offensive to Islamic unity and those do not adhere to Ayatollah Khamenei’s command on the prohibition against harming the sensitivities of our Sunni brothers.

 

Hujjat al-Islam Alavi warned that any such move which stirs up discord among Muslims and harms Islamic unity, the Ministry of Security will address it and prevent its impact on society.  “Anyone who attempts to harm Islamic unity will be brought to justice,” he explained.
