RNA – Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mousa Shobeyri-Zanjani has met with Hujjat al-Islam Davoud Namazi, who prepared a report on behalf of the Ministry for Clerical and Friday Prayer Leader Affairs.
The report explained the ministry’s recent activities since they established an office in Qom with the purpose of establishing mutual interaction between the Interior Ministry and clerics and Friday prayer leaders in the province of Qom. Ayatollah Shobeyri-Zanjani stated that his recommendations will strengthen the Islamic system of governance in Iran.
His Eminence stated that according to the constitution, the official religion of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the Twelver Shi’ah school of thought of Islam and thus all government officials must are require to follow it. However, Ayatollah Shobeyri-Zanjani emphasized on the importance of moderation, stating “the slogans of extremism may be beneficial in the short term but are ineffective in the long run.”
Ayatollah Shobeyri-Zanjani, a senior professor in the Islamic Seminary of Qom, emphasized that everyone in the field of administration or who interacts with others must avoid extremes in their actions. “Extremism does not just refer to principles [but behaviour, too].”
