RNA – “The Takfiri phenomenon, including ISIL, is a very difficult problem for Iran,” said Ayatollah Nouri-Hamedani, referring to the recent news of the arrest of 130 Takfiri-linked militants by Iranian security forces. “But given the fact that Iran has the power to deal with them, they do not dare to come near us."
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamedani made the remarks during his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque (Masjid al-A’dham), Rasa News reported.
He explained that the Shi’ite school of thought in Islam is a school of reason, logic and proof and that because of this, many opponents of Shi’ism resort to abuse and vilification of Shi’ism because they cannot defeat it through reason and debate.
Regarding the great historical event of Ghadir, he argued that the Prophet Muhammad (S) stated many times that Imam Ali (A), his son-in-law and cousin and close companion, was the executor of his will and his divinely-appointed successor. The greatest indicator of this fact is the event of Ghadir Khumm (Pond of Khumm), where the Prophet (S) clearly stated in front of at least 100,000 of his companions that Imam Ali (A) was his successor.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani emphasized that all seminarians and clergymen must read and contemplate on Nahj al-Balaghah (Peak of Eloquence), a rich compilation of Imam Ali’s (A) speeches, letters and sayings.
“Shi’ites have always faced attacks and violence throughout history,” Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated.
Considering the unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims that has always been emphasized by the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he stated that the Iranian Islamic Revolution is the source of Shi’ite culture and is the restoration and the revival of Ghadir because this government was founded upon the foundations of Shi’ite religious teachings. According to divine Islamic law, the Prophet (S), the Infallible Imam (A), or in the case of the occultation of Imam al-Mahdi (AJ), the Wali al-Faqih or “Guardian Jurisprudent” must rule the Islamic society.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamedani also congratulated the seminarians present on the upcoming holiday of Eid al-Ghadir.
