RNA – According to Rasa News Agency, during his daily Quranic exegesis class held at Qom’s Grand Mosque (Masjid al-A’dham), Ayatollah Hoseyn-Vahid Khorasani continued his explanation of Surah Ya Sin and mentioned a narration from the sixth Imam, Ja’far as-Sadiq (A) wherein the Imam (A) stated: “At the time of the rising and setting of the sun, contemplate.” Upon explaining the meaning of this narration, Ayatollah Khorasani added: “Imagination and illusions are not thought. One of the special attributes of mankind is that he has reason and the ability to use this reason and think.”
The renowned source of emulation explained that the rising and the setting of the sun and the changing of the four seasons are part of the system of the universe that God Almighty has created. He stated that the changing of the seasons are important in the system of the world. If there was no winter than the preservation of summer’s produce would be impossible and if none of the seasons existed, it would throw the system of the universe into disarray.
“All of these changes in the world are signs of the existence, power and wisdom of God. Unfortunately, man is negligent of these issues,” Ayatollah Khorasani stated. He added that to explain the divine truths and signs, we need to think. “God has two ‘books’ – the Quran and the world that He has created. The world, like the Quran, contains chapters and verses.” he said philosophically.
“The key to attaining a [complete] understanding of the Quran and the world is through piety,” he added.
Speaking of the greatness of Imam Ali (A), Ayatollah Khorasani stated there has never been anyone like him. Ayatollah Khorasani stated: “If [Imam Ali (A)] was given the right to rule over the Islamic society only then could we truly understand the world and the impact of the Quran. Unfortunately, we are deprived of Imam Ali’s (A) blessed presence,” His Eminence stated.
In conclusion, the great source of emulation stressed the importance of contemplation, stating that we should learn from the Quran and the signs of the universe and contemplate on it.
