Rasa - Director of Najaf airport Murtadha al-Mussawi expected an increase in air flight to the airport due to coming religious occasions, to reach 90 flights daily.

RNA – According to the Iraqi Aswat News Agency, in a press statement, director of Najaf airport Murtadha al-Mussawi expected the increase during the coming two months from 40 flights to 90.


He added that measures were taken to absorb the increase of the new comers.

 

Earlier, he stated that there are strategic plans to develop the infrastructure of the airport, due in the coming months, in addition to open new international lines, which are under discussion for time being.

 

Najaf Airport authorities also noted the arrival of 4200 passengers during the past week.

 

According to Iraq News Network, Najaf International Airport was an ex-military airport, which was turned into civilian and officially opened on 20 July, 2008.
