RNA – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani voiced their concern over the ongoing bloodshed in Iraq and Syria, and called for the regional nations’ vigilance against extremism and terrorism, Fars News Reported.

“We must try to stop bloodshed among Muslims, particularly in specific occasions such as sacred months” in which fighting is traditionally forbidden, President Rouhani said in a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar on Friday.

The two leaders then discussed the latest regional developments, massacre of innocent people by terrorist groups, and expressed hope that bloodshed would cease and security restore to the region. “While fighting terrorism,” said the President, “It is necessary to respect national sovereignty of all countries.”

“Taking any move in a country without making necessary coordination with its government will only add to regional insecurity,” said the Iranian President.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Qatar stressed that the region is facing serious problems which should be settled through wisdom and prudence. “These problems have nothing to do with being a Sunni or Shi’ite Muslim, as both sects are affected by the vicious phenomenon of terrorism,” Tamim said.

In relevant remarks on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu warned against the spread of terrorism and extremism in the Middle-East region
