RNA – Lebanon’s Coalition of Muslim Scholars, has held a meeting and issued a statement saying that the dangerous conditions which the Islamic country is currently experiencing show that Lebanon faces imminent danger due to the rise of Takfirism in the volatile region. They said that this danger does not just affect the physical unity of the nation, but rather touches the essence of the Islamic religion and its principles. The Takfiri phenomenon is twisting the noble principles of Islam in order to achieve their dark goals. “We Shi’ite and Sunni theologians are concerned and emphasize several points of concern,” they stated.
The Coalition of Muslim Scholars stated that they sense the imminent danger posed by Takfiri groups such as ISIL, and they are also suspicious at the international coalition led by the United States and its Arab allies. They have established and incited these Takfiri organizations to realize their goals in the region for a lengthy period of time. They seek to intimidate the countries in the region and prevent their stability.
They also realize the great threat that Takfiri groups pose to Lebanon as it is a multi-religious nation. There is no doubt that the Takfiris are taking advantage of the country’s sectarianism. They urged the Lebanese people to unite in order to confront the Takfiri threat to Lebanon’s peace and stability. The group thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its unconditional pledge of aid to the Lebanese army and hopes that that the Lebanese government would not succumb to the dictates of the Zionist-controlled American government and refuse the aid, as they did in the past.
The Coalition of Muslim Scholars expressed their solidarity with the families of prisoners kidnapped by ISIL and prayed for their release. They called on the Lebanese people to be careful so that that the plan to release those kidnapped can succeed. They also called on Lebanon’s political parties to accelerate their unity so they can implement laws and plans which are in the interest of citizens.
