RNA (Qom) – Shaykh Dr. Mahmoud Ahmad Karimah, the director of the Department of Contemporary Islamic Jurisprudence at Egypt’s famous al-Azhar University, met with senior officials of al-Mustafa International University at its headquarters in the holy city of Qom this week. Dr. Karimah visited and spoke with Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi, the president of al-Mustafa International University.

 

According to a report from the media centre at al-Mustafa International University, Ayatollah Aarafi welcomed Dr. Karimah and expressed his hope that the meeting will be turning point in increasing cooperative partnerships between al-Mustafa International University and al-Azhar University.

 

He stated that he considered Qom to be one of most important scientific cities of the Muslim world, saying “there are about forty thousand graduates coming from more than one hundred different nationalities and now there are thirty thousand students studying in the internal and external subsidiaries of al-Mustafa International University.

 

Dr. Karimah, explained that while there was severe criticism from many people around the world due to the extremism of some groups attributed to Islam, he explained that cooperative partnerships between al-Mustafa International University will strengthen unity between Islamic nations.

 

al-Mustafa International University is an Islamic seminary based in the Iranian holy city of Qom which has a mission is to educate non-Iranian Muslim students in a wide-range of Islamic sciences and disciplines.
