RNA (Iran) – The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has been discharged from hospital after undergoing a successful prostate surgery.
Ayatollah Khamenei left the hospital Monday (September 15th) morning after a weeklong treatment there. Before leaving the hospital, Ayatollah thanked the personnel of the hospital as well as the officials and people who visited him during the recovery.
Former Health Minister Dr. Ali-Reza Marandi, who is now a ranking member of the parliament’s Health and Treatment Commission and also heads the Supreme Leader’s medical team, said last week that like the other patients who undergone a similar operation, the Leader would be hospitalized for three to five days. “Then, he can return to normal life, but he should avoid a heavy working agenda for a few weeks,” Dr. Marandi added.
On September 8, the Leader was hospitalized at one of Tehran’s public hospitals and underwent prostate surgery. Many Iranians and foreigners visited him in the hospital.
