Rasa News Agency reports from Tehran – Speaking on the second day the first international conference of the International Conference of Islamic Scholars in Defence of Palestine, Molavi Nazir Ahmad Salami, a Sunni member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, underscored the importance of Muslim unity over the issue of Palestine.
The prominent Sunni cleric of Sistan and Balouchistan province said that support for the Palestinian resistance is a fully human issue because the Zionist regime has committed crimes that have shocked the conscience of every human. Today, all Muslim and non-Muslims have a revolutionary duty to condemn their crimes. “Palestine is a humane, Islamic and Arabic issue. Although Palestine is an Arab country, and in this regard many Arab people and non-Arab people did their duties by supporting the Palestinians, but most of Arab leaders did not, and turned a blind eye to their plight,” he explained.
He expressed satisfaction with the support of the Palestinian resistance, saying: “We saw worldwide protest against the Zionists’ atrocities in Gaza,” and added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has been recorded as being supportive of the Islamic Resistance. More than sixty years have passed since the creation of the Zionist regime and we can say that the Palestinian people have the most support from Iran.”
Molavi Salami stressed that the Zionist regime was attempting to finish their so-called “Operation Protective Edge” before the International al-Quds Day on July 25th and destroy the Islamic Resistance and the Palestinian people’s national unity in order to prevent a new “Intifada” or popular uprising, but the strong support of Muslims around the world could not be overcome by the arrogant Zionist regime.
At the end of his speech, Molavi Salami referred to Ayatollah Khamenei’s speech where he stated that the consequence of the developments in the region is due to neglect and said that if the Muslim community wants to be victorious over these crises and challenges, they must recognize the various dimensions of the enemies’ dynamics.
