Rasa News Agency reports from Mashhhad – In a sermon delivered on Sunday night at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali ibn Musa ar-Ridha (A), Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani congratulated the believers on the joyous birth anniversary of the eighth infallible successor to the Prophet Muhammad (S).

He spoke about the “Hadith of Golden Chain,” a highly credible narration the Imam recited to thousands of people who came to welcome him after he arrived in Nayshabour. He then spoke about the lofty virtues and merits of the eighth Imam. He stated that “wilayah,” the guardianship of the Ahlul-Bayt (A), is one of the most important principles of Islam and the Shi’ah school of thought, but that wilayah must be alongside “tawhid,” the oneness of God.

He also stated that Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudent) is a continuation of the wilayah of the Imams and emphasized the necessity of protecting and appreciating this divine and unmatched blessing. All of the achievements and blessings on the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran are due to Wilayat al-Faqih.

In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that the way to solve the country’s economic problems is to pay attention to the application of the resistance economy – an economy based on increasing resilience by substituting imported goods for local goods. Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani warned that the economy will not recover based on speeches and slogans alone. He also advised the Iranian people to be patient.

He also emphasized that he has no hope for the negotiations with the United States and the Western powers over Iran’s disputed nuclear program. Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said the West only looks for excuses in regard to Iran’s the peaceful program. The Western negotiators were not honest from the beginning and thus we must not be optimistic or trust them.
