Rasa - Iranian President Dr. Hasan Rohani visited the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in hospital following the Supreme Leader’s prostate surgery this morning (September 8).
President Rohani visits Ayatollah Khamenei in hospital

Rasa News Agency reports from Tehran – Iranian President Dr. Hasan Rohani visited the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in hospital following the Supreme Leader’s prostate surgery this morning (September 8).

 

In an interview with the press after meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei, President Rohani expressed satisfaction with Ayatollah Khamenei’s current situation and the praised his medical team for their successful performance of the surgery and for providing appropriate medical care. He said that all people should pray for His Eminence’s health, length of life and increased opportunities in service of the people of Iran and the world of Islam.

 

He stated that the Supreme Leader’s general condition is very good and described the Leader’s as being in high spirits and comfortable. He also stated that it is perfectly normal if there are complications after an operation but that the medical team is highly experienced. This operation was performed well and precisely and that the aftercare should also follow the same precision.

 

The Leader in a televised interview prior to his departure to the hospital said: “There is no room for concern” and added it is an ordinary operation and there is no need to worry. The Leader said “God willing everything will go on well.”

 

Meanwhile, the head of operation team Dr. Ali-Reza Marandi said on Monday Ayatollah Khamenei’s surgery ended successfully and he is in normal health condition.

 

Referring to his previously scheduled foreign trip this afternoon, President Rohani said that he personally is inclined to remain in Tehran, but that the Supreme Leader said that work should continue as scheduled.
