Rasa News Agency reports from Mashhad – The Iranian president, Dr. Hasan Rohani, and his cabinet arrived in Mashhad and visited the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali ibn Musa ar-Ridha (A), on the eve of the birth anniversary of the eighth infallible Imam. The trip to the north-eastern Khorasan-e Razavi province, is part of the president’s tour to various provinces.
President Rohani was met at Mashhad’s Shahid Hasheminejad Airport by the Friday prayer leader, the governor of Khorasan-e Razavi and a group of local officials. There he explained the goals and plans for his trip. He expressed satisfaction with the presence of the provincial officials on this auspicious night. He said the government is working hard to meet the particular needs of the people of Khorasan-e Razavi province.
He pointed to the presence of millions of Iranians and lovers of the Ahlul-Bayt (A) who visited the Holy Shine on the blessed night. He praised them for their virtuousness, righteousness and hospitality: “This holy city is the direction of the hearts of the lovers of the Family of Prophethood [the Ahlul-Bayt] (A) and the government is obliged to try to solve the problems of the city of Mashhad.
President Rohani is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Holy Shrine of Imam ar-Ridha (A) and is also scheduled to meet with local residents, officials, elites, and economic activists during his two-day visit.
