Rasa – Ayatollah Safi-Golpaygani told Dr. Larijani that economic issues are very important concerns that need to be addressed they are associated with all Iranians and they are all worried about it.

Rasa News Agency reports – Dr. Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, has met with Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani at His Eminence’s home in the holy city of Qom. They discussed important Iranian and regional issues, the most important of which were in regards to domestic economical issues.

 

Ayatollah Safi-Golpaygani told Dr. Larijani that economic issues are very important concerns that need to be addressed they are associated with all Iranians and they are all worried about it. The source of emulation also stated that he was hopeful that the economic issues facing Iran would be solved by greater emphasis and cooperation among the various levels of government and by the parliament. He urged members to work sincerely for God and that if they work for God alone and not for worldly aims, the problems facing Iran can be solved quickly.

 

Dr. Larijani pointed to the efforts of parliament to follow up with some of the problems and concerns of the country. He explained that the government is putting emphasis on increasing production, saying that if the country’s manufacturing capabilities and quality are weak, the economic problems cannot be solved as industries need to profits in order invest in production.

 

The Member of Parliament for Qom pointed to the problems in the area of agriculture and the water shortages which hamper its expansion, saying: “the water shortage problem for farmers is certainly very sensitive. According to statistics, currently about 92% of the water used is consumed by the agricultural sector. The province of Qom is now faced with critical water shortages and its agricultural system needs to be converted into a mechanized system.”

 

Dr. Larijani continued speaking on the subject of housing projects, saying there were financial and other problems from the beginning. The projects were not launched properly and there was a lot of on the pressure on the government due to dissatisfaction among the people.
