Rasa News Agency reports – In the second part of his sermon on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (S) at the Holy Shrine of Imam ‘Ali ar-Ridha (A) in the holy city of Mashhad, Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi spoke about the ongoing soft war being waged against the Islamic Republic of Iran by its enemies.
Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi has said that in the current era, the enemies are striving hard to weaken the Islamic Republic of Iran and to create sedition and division among different sects of Muslims. One of the methods they use is to spread their message by broadcasting anti-Islamic and anti-Islamic Revolution satellite and internet television channels into the homes of the people of Iran.
“The scholars, seminaries and universities must stand against the plans of the enemies and propagate the true message of Islam with more vigour throughout the world,” His Eminence said in regards to the importance of Islamic education.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi explained that because of the danger to the Islamic system of government and the effects of the enemies’ seditious plots on the youth and on Islamic culture and morality, access to the internet must not be unlimited.
He stated that had sent a message to the authorities in regards to the media, saying that he the media should not be in the hands of those who are corrupt. The use of the internet and the expansion of broadband internet across the country should be to spread information and be for the benefit of the nation, especially the youth, and not to harm them.
“We are not opposed to expanding the knowledge and tools but it should be noted that some of the media outlets are dangerous instruments of sin. In fact, there has never been a time like our era where sins have been so widespread because in our era, the instruments of sin are far more widespread than in any other era,” he explained.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi concluded his sermon by stating that when the instruments of sin are widespread and accessible, tribulations such as drought, insecurity, incurable illnesses, deaths, etc. expand.
