“We hereby strongly condemn the brutal killing of worshippers in Mos’ab bin Omair Mosque” the message says “and we offer our condolences to the families of the victims.”

The council also demands the government of Iraq not to remain silent against such actions and says: “we hope the government does not remain silent anymore, because silence, especially at the time when the shouts of extremism have come back upon us, will not profit us.”

“The tribal extremist has returned to Iraq” they claim “to insult the blood [of the nation] and religious symbols and sanctities to gain political and personal interests.”
