Rasa – Hujjat al-Islam Sa’idi pointed out the enormous costs paid by Shi’as in their attempts to create a true Islamic government throughout history, saying that during the Umayyad and Abbasid era, specially under the caliphates of Mansour al-Diwaniqi and al-Mutawakkil, many Shi’as were tortured and imprisoned.
