Ayatollah Khamenei said: ‎ ‎“Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a) was a man of struggle, science, knowledge and organization. ‎Everyone has heard that he is a man of knowledge. The educational gatherings of Imam al-‎Sadiq (a) and the educational field created by that noble man were unprecedented both ‎before and after him in the life history of the Shi’ah Imams. Imam al-Sadiq (a) correctly ‎stated all the correct words of Islam and the original meanings of the Quran, which had been ‎distorted by biased and corrupt people or the ignorant over the course of a century and a ‎half.”‎ September 5, 1980‎‏ ‏
