RNA – Speaking to Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Ali Bakhshi-Nahavandi, a faculty member of Malek-Ashtar University of Technology in Esfahan, said that at different times throughout the history of the world, especially the history of Islam, we’ve seen that individuals, movements and nations have been cursed by other people.
“As well, there are numerous verses in the Quran which mention that God has ‘cursed’ certain individuals and groups. These individuals and groups only sought to create corruption in the land,” he explained.
The Iranian university professor stated that in the current era, the United States and its allies are seen as disgraced by those who seek freedom throughout the world, especially Muslims. Every day throughout the world, the United States is cursed at with the slogan “Death to America.”
“Of course, this wish of death refers to the arrogant policies of the United States, not the country itself or its people,” His Eminence stressed.
Hujjat al-Islam Bakhshi-Nahavandi stated that the meaning of the word “death” has a critical impact. We must understand if such a concept originated in the Holy Quran or not. If we assume that if calling for “death” upon someone or something doesn’t exist in the Quran although it does, we must say that it isn’t stipulated that all details come from the Quran, but its equivalent is.
He said that the word “la’n” means curse in Arabic but a believer does not use such a term as much as possible and considers it immoral, except where God gives permission to the believers. “In verses 18 to 20 of the Quranic chapter ‘al-Muddaththir’ the word ‘qutil’ (death) is used for those who do reject the divinity of the Quran and who say the Quran is not from God,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Bakhshi-Nahavandi said that the reason for the American-sponsored killings throughout the world is because they fear the awakening of the oppressed of the world and that they should come out from under the yoke of their oppressors.
The cleric stated that the US knows that the slogan of “Death to America” is combined with reason and if it’s exported to other parts of the world, it can damage the foundations of their oppressive rule. He stated: “If the United States does not oppress people, they will not shout ‘Death to America,’ but they oppress people and do not want revolution.”
