RNA – During a meeting with the governor of the province of Qom, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi emphasized that this holy city belongs to the world of Islam.
His Eminence stated that the presence of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (S), the Islamic Seminaries and Jamkaran Mosque are some of the main privileges of Qom and added that the government should recognize the specific capacities of Qom in order to serve this city in the most appropriate manner.
He emphasized that the people and government must combat the cultural invasion by the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and added that there are more than 300 cultural institutions in Qom which are deserving of consideration and said the government can use the city’s great capacities to strengthen the cultural foundations of the country.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi stated that he considered Iran’s agreement with the P5+1 group of countries as a “great achievement” by the administration of President Hassan Rouhani and added: “Success in these negotiations was the result of the greatness and the dignity of Islamic Iran.”
Qom’s governor, in his part, discussed cultural issues, economic development and work priorities and added that when officials work together and cooperation in all fields, they can achieve all the development goals for the province of Qom.
