RNA - Sayed Ali Fadlallah in a message also slammed the recent terrorist bombing in the eastern Iraqi province of Diyala that left tens of people dead.
He described those who perpetrate such atrocities against Muslims as servants of Islam’s enemies, al-Manar website reported.
Fadlallah said Takfiri terrorists serve the enemies of Islam by fomenting discord among Muslims and provoking tribal and sectarian tension.
He called on Iraqi people and government to exercise vigilance in the face of the enemies’ plots, saying that unity and resistance is key to Iraq’s victory against enemies.
On Friday, a car bomb explosion killed at least 115 people, including women and children, at a market in the center of Khan Bani Sa’ad, located about 30 kilometers (12 miles) north of the capital, Baghdad.
The deadly attack, which was claimed by the ISIL terrorist group, also left dozens of people injured and was carried out as people were celebrating Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting holy month of Ramadan.
The Iraqi government announced three days of national mourning following the deadly blast with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi condemning the attack as a "despicable crime" and vowing that the army backed by volunteer forces will continue fighting the terrorists to push them out of the country.
