RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Abbas Rafati, the director of the Specialized Centre for Law and the Judiciary of the Islamic Seminary of Qom analyzed the objectives of the Saudi regime’s ongoing attack on Yemen, saying that Saud Arabia and its allies have intended to prevent the “Islamic Awakening” from bearing fruit in the region. They have been able to thwart revolutions in several Islamic countries or led them astray from their path.
He stated that in recent years, the determination of awakened nations has exposed the foreign intervention in the region. Saudi Arabia’s aggressive interventionist measures have failed in Yemen because the Yemeni people have been inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran and has implemented the slogans that the Iranian people used 36 years ago to demand their rights.
Hujjat al-Islam Rafati said that the Saudi regime and its allies have misunderstood that there are major differences between Egypt, Tunisia and Libya and Yemen. Yemen’s revolution has not been deviated from its path because power is in the hands of the people. This stance creates fear in the hearts of the Wahhabis and Salafis that this small country’s stance may influence the people of Saudi Arabia.
He added that in order to counter the influence and domination of the people of the region, as well as their own population, the House of Saud has sought to launch an operation to extinguish the popular uprisings of its Arab and Muslim neighbours. Due to its will to defend the interests of its allies and the ‘global arrogance’ and international Zionism, they have sent their soldiers onto the battlefield.
His Eminence continued by stating that the Saudi regime seeks nothing but to mercilessly kill Muslims on the battlefield but stressed that they will never be able to extinguish the Yemeni peoples’ revolution.
“This great nation was inspired by the Islamic Republic [of Iran] and will teach other nations about strength and perseverance and will cause disgrace for the global arrogance and the Zionist lackeys,” he explained.
Hujjat al-Islam Rafati added that the international institutions associated with the United Nations and the Security Council are only means for the imperialistic world powers to achieve control over regimes which are hostile to their demands. They do not serve the oppressed people of the world, rather they fight against the will of nations who seek independence and freedom.
