RNA – Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi has met with a group of commanders of the Revolutionary Guards. He described the battle between truth and falsehood as an perpetual struggle and stressed the importance of recognizing truth.
The revered source of emulation explained that falsehood has many faces. Sometimes falsehood can take religious, political and even cultural and social faces. “These [false] faces of falsehood make a lot of noise but are actually empty,” he stressed.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi stated that the changes in the region, especially in regard to the events occurring in Syria, which the arrogant powers of the world and their regional agents and allies have created, are a battle of truth over falsehood.
His Eminence explained that Syrian people clearly and overwhelmingly elected Bashar al-Asad as their leader in the June 2014 elections, but the arrogant powers of the world have rejected their choice because it goes against their interests. Thus, they have sent in Takfiri terrorists to take the lives of the people of this country. “These arrogant powers created these terrorist groups and sponsored them but now these terrorist groups have become a misfortune for them and they have stepped away from them and have created coalitions for show,” he said.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi explained that the United States’ and their allies’ claims to be fighting terrorism are pure lies. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is truly fighting against terrorism.
He also described US President Barack Obama’s recent statements about Iran as outrageous and baseless and expressed his regret that Obama lies so easily about Iran. He pointed out that Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons said the IAEA’s inspectors and officers have repeatedly visited Iran’s nuclear facilities and consistently filmed in these places. Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said IAEA officials have released a report that corroborates the peaceful nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its non-diversion of its nuclear activities.
In conclusion, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said the main weapon of the Iranian people is their spirituality and their faith. He said that this advantage in not found in any of the imperialistic countries. “The United States has chosen the military option but due to their the fear of Iran’s youth and their mobilization, they have not dared to execute this military option on Iran because they know that they are not able to deal with the power of Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation,” he stated.
