RNA – Grand Ayatollah Mohammad-Javad Fazel-Lankarani, the chairman of the Jurisprudence Centre of the Pure Imams (A), has met with members of International Congress of Imam Sajjad (A) in the holy city of Qom. He told them that both Shi’ites and other Muslim sects have gone astray from the truths in Sahifah as-Sajjadiyah – a collection of Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn’s (A) supplications entitled as the Psalms of Islam in its English-language translation.
In emphasizing the importance of reading Sahifah as-Sajjadiyah, Ayatollah Fazel-Lankarani also stated that society must strive hard to understand it and its effects on society. Many people, including seminarians, do not have enough information on its contents, as it is usually given less importance than the other works of our Imams, such as Imam Ali’s (A) Nahj al-Balaghah (The Peak of Eloquence).
Understanding Sahifah as-Sajjadiyah will help people avoid the negative effects of false gnosticism and mysticism. Gnosticism and mysticism can be very attractive to people, especially the youth, but their incorrect understanding and application can cause spiritual problems and cause them to fall into extremism.
“Economic corruption, moral corruption as well as theological corruption and the misunderstanding of Islamic beliefs by Shi’ite and other Muslim youth can be solved by knowing Sahifah as-Sajjadiyah. It explains religious knowledge by means of supplications,” Ayatollah Fazel-Lankarani explained.
Tying the importance of understanding Sahifah as-Sajjadiyah with the rise of extremism among Muslims, Ayatollah Fazel-Lankarani stated that the key to solving the problems facing the world, such as the Takfiri phenomenon, is to propel them toward the divine imamate (leadership) of the Ahlul-Bayt (A). “Returning to the wilayah (guardianship) of the Imams (A) is the key to solving the problems of Islamic society,” he stated.
“Zionist and American intelligence organizations created the so-called ISIL caliphate. These organizations have come to the conclusion that many Muslim youths have attracted become attracted to extremism. For this reason, they created the caliphate and trained its leader and appointed him as the caliph and introduced him to the world in a plot to deviate Muslims and eradicate true Islam,” the renowned source of emulation explained, according to Rasa News Agency.
He concluded by emphasizing that knowing the pure Islam of the Infallible Imams (A) and understanding what imamate is are the most important keys to take back Islam from the Takfiris with their false caliphate.
