He pointed out that the eyes of the entire Shi’ite world are looking towards the Islamic Republic of Iran and its seminaries [for inspiration].
His Eminence pointed at the importance of hiring well-qualified teachers in the seminaries and emphasized their training should be regularly tested and documented as this creates an atmosphere of order and discipline. These teachers should not be narrow-minded and understanding of the individual level of their students. Students should not be compared to other students who’s levels and skills may be different than theirs. Teachers should attend regular training sessions. Ayatollah Bushehri explained that students should not be afraid to hold their teachers and administrators to accountability if they face problems. The teachers and administrators also have important duties to solve any problems faced by their students.
“The effect of Iran’s seminaries are manifested in the faces of its Supreme Leader and its sources of emulation, who are the result and the blessing of the seminary system. Iran’s seminaries must not be underestimated and be compared to other educational institutions [such as universities] because they exist by the grace of God,” Ayatollah Bushehri stated.
Ayatollah Bushehri, who is also the Friday prayer leader of Qom, referred to the opportunities and threats of the Internet. He explained that the Internet has both useful opportunities and benefits for society as well as great dangers which can be exploited.
