Friday prayers have been cancelled in Shahrekord and many other cities throughout Iran due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and maintain the health of the people.
The representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province pointed out that the holy month of Ramadhan is a month of self-development, he noted, “We must try to have a real return to the blessed and exalted God in this luminous month and make the most of its luminous opportunities.”
He further noted the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba, which is celebrated on the 15th of the holy month of Ramadhan and the coinciding military exercises and stated, “The holding of military exercises in the country despite the Coronavirus pandemic is, in fact, a response to Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba and God Almighty, for whom everyone has a duty.”

His Eminence also noted that the Layali al-Qadr (Nights of Power) are approaching and added, “Let’s try to establish the Nights of Power in the true sense of the word. Although it isn’t possible to hold special ceremonies this year, we can arrange the space of our homes and family in such a way that we take full advantage of the opportunities of the Nights of Power.”
Emphasizing that our pride is that we are Shi’ah (followers) of Ali but this alone isn’t enough, he said, “We must strive to teach and institutionalize ambition, religious zealotry, faith, animosity toward the enemies, statesmanship and in a word, the manners and methods of Imam Ali in society and if this happens, we can consider ourselves the Shi’ah of Ali.”
Ayatollah Nekounam also referred to May 13, 1979, the anniversary of the final repeal of the colonial and arrogant Bill of Capitulation and added, “Thanks to God, in the 41 years since the Islamic Revolution, the United States has been slapped by Iran so hard that the abolition of the Bill of Capitulation is a small move. Today the United States is despised all over the world and Iran is in the highest positions of honour and we should be proud of ourselves in this regard.”
