RNA - Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi, the head of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah in Qom, offered explanations on why the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah was closed down citing public health concerns.
He emphasized that closing the holy shrine was a very difficult and bitter affair for all of us and said, “In this regard, we called on the service of three noble sources of emulation, Grand Ayatollahs Naser Makarem-Shirazi, Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani and Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani, to discuss this issue. All of these nobles emphasized on the closing of the shrine with various explanations and exigencies so that there would be no problem for the people at the present time and place.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi announced the preparation of the holy shrine for the Norouz [Iranian new year] ceremony which will be broadcast live via the media, especially the national media, and said, “Due to the special circumstances of this year, pilgrims and loved ones who are eager to visit the Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah can make pilgrimage through the media and online.”
He said, “A variety of excellent programs are being prepared for the Norouz holidays, which will be made available to the public in cooperation with the national media, the provincial Noor television network and online.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “We hope that with the removal of the problem of the Coronavirus and the restoration of relative calm to society, we can reopen the holy shrine with a ceremony. We recommend that our dear people don’t leave their homes unless necessary.”
