RNA – A funeral procession and service for Ayatollah Sayyed Abolfazl Mirmohammadi-Zarandi was attended by a number of sources of emulation, scholars, clerics, seminarians and the public from Imam Hasan al-Askari Mosque toward the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah in Qom.
Ayatollah Mirmohammadi was a jurisprudent member of the Assembly of Experts and a member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom.
His Eminence was born on 1924 in the town of Zavieh, on the Zarand Plain in Markazi province, to a religious family. He finished his primary education in his hometown and moved to Qom in 1942 due to his great interest in fathering his seminary education. He passed away on November 24 in Qom.
According to Rasa News Agency’s reporter, Ayatollahs Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, Abbas Ka’bi, Mohammad-Mahdi Shabzendehdar, Mohammad-Reza Modarresi-Yazdi, Abdol-Mahmoud Abdollahi, Alireza Arafi, Mohsen Faqihi, Mohammad-Javad Fazel-Lankarani, Sayyed Mohammad Gharavi and Reza Ostadi-Moqaddam and Hujjat al-Islam Hasan-Agha Nazari-Shahroudi were present at the funeral procession.
Representatives from the Office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Qom and the offices of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani and Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi-Golpaygani, as well as representatives from Ali ibn Abi Talib Brigade of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also attended the funeral procession.
Ayatollah Sayyed Musa Shobeyri-Zanjani, a renowned source of emulation, led the funeral prayer in the Imam al-Ridha Courtyard of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah.
During the funeral procession, the attendees recited Surah al-Fatihah and several other verses of the Holy Quran for the happiness of the late Ayatollah Mirmohammadi’s soul and asked God Almighty to resurrect his soul alongside the Infallible Imams.
It is noteworthy that after the funeral procession, the body of the late Ayatollah Mirmohammadi was buried next to the grave of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah.
The memorial for the late Ayatollah Mirmohammadi was held on November 25th after Maghrib and Isha prayers and was led by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah.
