Ayatollah al-Modarresi:
The Iraqi source of emulation said, “To fight the Coronavirus, the efforts of the medical ‎staff alone aren’t enough and everyone must cooperate and interact with each other.”‎

RNA – In a speech, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Taqi al-Modarresi, an Iraqi source of ‎emulation, “We thank the people who are trying to control the Coronavirus but this ‎isn’t enough and everyone should be trying to control this evil virus.”‎

His Eminence said, “One of the reasons for the spread of this virus in Iraq, despite the ‎closure of borders and curfews, is the failure of officials to provide the essential needs ‎of the people to prevent this virus and the lack of cooperation and empathy of the ‎people in dealing with this virus.”‎

Ayatollah al-Modarresi further stated, “Purity and cleanliness is one of the traditions of ‎God and God loves clean and pure people, and this means that all filth should be ‎avoided, whether in a social position that includes cleanliness of the environment or in ‎the individual position which includes the purification of the body, clothes and the place ‎of worship from any impurity and pollution.”‎

He further emphasized the social dimension, and added, “It’s necessary to keep our ‎environment and community free from contamination and viruses and to pay special ‎attention to cleanliness and purity by using a mask when leaving the house and using ‎disinfectant solutions.”‎

Ayatollah al-Modarresi also stated, “Maintaining social cleanliness can only be achieved ‎through the cooperation and observance of all people and we must distance ourselves ‎from some recommended things such as visiting, attending weddings and other matters ‎because these things are in conflict with preserving one’s soul and life, and we should ‎think about communicating with each other through social networks and feeding the ‎needy, instead of setting up a party where dozens of people are likely to get infected.”‎
