Rasa – Ayatollah al-Sistani has met with Nabih Berri, the speaker in Lebanon’s parliament in the Iraqi city of Najaf. RNA – Iraq’s top Shi’ah cleric Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani has stressed the importance of promoting the values of peaceful coexistence across the globe to attain international security and stability.
The revered source of emulation made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Ayatollah al-Sistani called for developing relations between Baghdad and Beirut in various fields, urging the world countries to work on establishing the values of peaceful coexistence to maintain international peace and security.
He also stressed the importance of honouring rights of various religious components, considering it a cornerstone to provide prosperity and progress.
For his part, Berri congratulated the top Shi’ah cleric on the victory achieved by the Iraqi people in the war against the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.
