RNA – Pakistan’s Majlis Wahdat-e Muslimeen, in a statement issued by secretary-general Hujjat al-Islam Raja Nasir Abbas Ja’fari, condemned the insulting cartoon published against Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in the Saudi-owned London-based daily “al-Sharq al-Awsat” newspaper on July 3rd.
In the statement, it was stated and said, “This is not the first time that the Saudi regime has crossed all red lines and insulted the Iraqi Shi’ah people and tribes. This is an insult to all Muslims in the world.”
The Majlis Wahdat-e Muslimeen said, “The world is well-aware of the great role of Ayatollah al-Sistani in protecting the unity and protecting Iraq against the terrorist forces of Daesh.”
The message reads, “We live in a time when we hear the voice of unity and empathy following the insult to this great authority, who is a source of honour and pride for Muslims and Iraqis.”
They stressed that the House of Saud’s abominable action is a factor in inciting sedition and is an attack on religious officials and this indicates the weakness of the House of Saud.
In conclusion, the Majlis Wahdat-e Muslimeen declared that we stand with the Iraqi people and the religious authorities and condemn these repetitive insults, and call on all the honourable people of the world to stand by us in all possible ways, as well as the dear Iraqi people. We call for vigilance and insight in the face of the sedition that global arrogance is doing in the region.
