RNA – In a speech marking the holy month of Ramadhan, Hujjat al-Islam Baqir Abbas Zaidi, the Secretary of the Majlis-e Wahdat-e Muslimeen in Pakistan’s Sindh province, called the holy month of Ramadhan the month of blessings, mercy and forgiveness and said, “In this month, God Almighty has allowed his servants to reach their highest levels by fasting, performing prayers, holding ceremonies to recite supplications, sending blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and other acts of worship.”
The Pakistani cleric stated that we can’t achieve great goals only through outward and physical actions, said, “Patience, toleration, brotherhood, expressing helplessness and inability before God Almighty are other ways to achieve great goals.”
Hujjat al-Islam Zaidi added, “Due to the problems of the Coronavirus and the implementation of a public quarantine, workers and the needy must be taken care of and shopkeepers must also avoid selling goods at expensive prices.”
He stressed that fasting is not just about starving and said, “The prayers of those who harass and annoy others aren’t answered and these people are deprived of the spiritual benefits of fasting.”
At the end of his speech, he prayed for the end of the Coronavirus all over the world, especially in Pakistan.
