The secretary general of the Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly, Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, and Leader of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement Seyed Ammar al-Hakim stressed the need for more efforts to combat extremist thoughts.

RNA - In a meeting in Baghdad, Akhtari and Hakim exchanged views about a range of issues, including challenges facing the Islamic community and ways to deal with them, according to a statement released by Hakim’s office.  

The Iraqi politician highlighted the importance of the fight amassing extremist thoughts and said all Muslims are responsible in this regard.

He further stressed the need for paying attention to the issue of economic and social development through focusing on discourse and Islamic books.

In recent years, some parts of the Muslim world have been plagued with extremism, violence, and terrorism due to a lack of unity as well as plots hatched by the enemies of Islam.

According to Tasnim News Agency, Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL) have emerged in the Middle East, which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims but mostly against Muslims in the region.
