RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to the epic and widespread presence of the Iranian people in the 22 Bahman rallies marking the 41st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and said, “The people declared their loyalty to the Islamic Revolution and to the ideals and values of the system and came out of their first test with their heads held high.”
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah added, “This year, 22 Bahman was one of the brightest days of the Islamic Revolution and had important messages. The presence of people with their family and children created a sense in the minds of the world that the Islamic Revolution of Iran is tied with the faith of each of these people in the cities and the villages.”
He referred to the 21 February legislative election in Iran and said, “Instead of engaging in insults, destruction and lies against their rivals and the apparatus of the country’s governing system, the candidates must prove their competence through the presentation of their platforms to fill this critical position.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “Dealing fairly with people is one of the key needs for the healthy competition of the election campaigns and the candidates must adhere to this. Giving people false and inaccurate promises is one indicator of the people’s recognition. The people are intelligent and aren’t deceived by the false and hollow promises of some candidates.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader in Qom continued, “If the foreign media and the sworn enemies of the Islamic Revolution and the killers of Haj Qasem Soleymani backed a candidate or a movement, we must know that the place of such a candidate or a movement isn’t in the sacred seat of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. Our people won’t only not send such a representative to the Islamic Consultative Assembly but rather they will throw him in the garbage can.”
In another part of his remarks, he referred to the special status of the holy city of Qom and stated, “There has been a great deal of emphasis on the holy city of Qom in the narrations and Qom has been introduced as the nest of the Ahl al-Bayt. The term ‘haram’ meaning shrine doesn’t refer merely to the blessed sanctuary but rather the whole city of Qom is considered as the holy shrine of the Ahl al-Bayt.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi stated, “Knowledge will emerge in Qom and will be spread from this city to all parts of the world. Qom is the nest of the Immaculate Family of Muhammad and place of refuge of the Shi’ahs. However, all residents, officials, institutions and pilgrims must recognize the sanctity of this city and maintain the dignity of Qom.”
His Eminence added, “In addition to the specific features stated, Qom is the centre of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Seminaries and the place of the presence of the sources of emulation. The sources of emulation are the red line and no one has the right to cross that red line.”
He also offered his congratulations on the birth anniversary of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra, the beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, and emphasized the need for the Islamic community to follow the tradition of this lady.
