RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Mohsen Mojtahed-Shabestari, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, referred to the issue of the increased price of gasoline and the violent actions against the Islamic Revolution in Iran over the past few days, including the destruction of public property and said, “The increase of the price of gasoline gave a rallying point to the anti-revolutionary elements and they began to destroy property and riot.”
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary added, “Those who attack the offices of Friday prayer leaders, buildings of the Martyrs’ Foundation, mosques and gasoline stations are definitely not ordinary people and these actions are definitely the work of anti-revolutionary elements.”
Ayatollah Mojtahed-Shabestari stressed that these actions are certainly the actions of anti-revolutionary elements and added, “This destruction is the will and demand of the enemies and are against reason. The United States is very happy that rioting and chaos has been created in Iran and these actions have been condemned by all of the people.”
His Eminence said, “The government and supervisory bodies must take a serious stand against the increased prices of commodities. The control of prices is very important. In Tahrir al-Wasilah, Imam Khomeyni said that the Islamic government has the right to set the prices for all data-x-items and anyone who violates it must be punished.”
He added, “Prices should be logical. The rise in the price of gasoline and the payment of subsidies must not cause prices to rise. Dealing with offenders and saboteurs must be pursued and lead to the people’s consent and satisfaction. The government must adhere to the promises it gave to the people.”
Ayatollah Mojtahed-Shabestari said, “We condemn the anti-revolutionary actions which lead to the contentment of the enemies of the system of the Islamic Republic and we hope that the security bodies will seriously dealing with the anti-revolutionary elements.”
