A senior Iraqi scholar noted that the statements of the hypocrites and the impercipient must not obstacles for the believers to carry out the rituals in memory of Imam al-Husayn. According to Rasa News Agency’s correspondent in Najaf, Ayatollah Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, an Iraqi source of emulation, told a group of members of the media, clerical leaders of the Hajj caravans that Husayni mawkibs, charitable religious and social organizations must be sincere in carrying out rituals in memory of Imam al-Husayn.
The Iraqi scholar added, “The statements of the hypocrites and the impercipient must not obstacles for the believers to carry out rituals in memory of Imam al-Husayn and to learn from the movement of Imam al-Husayn in such matters as reformation, enjoining the good and forbidding the wrong, resistance against the oppression and supporting the oppressed.”
Ayatollah al-Yaqoubi stated, “Imam al-Husayn’s companions outdistanced each other in sacrifice and didn’t sustain a loss in donating their lives in the path of the defence of the Master of the Martyrs but rather they obtained salvation, the satisfaction of God Almighty and the intercession of the Prophet Muhammad.”
In conclusion, His Eminence honoured the efforts of the clerical leaders in performing their duties in the Hajj caravans and called on all believers to spare no effort in exalting the name of God and promoting authentic Islamic teachings.
