RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Pakistani city of Lahore, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Jawad Naqvi referred to internal Pakistani issues and noted that the country’s budget will be released in June, saying, “The support which the economy of Pakistan needs has not been provided. The economy is dependent on few things, such as national resources and development. Pakistan’s agriculture, industrial and tax system is lacking.”
The principal of Jami’at Urwat al-Wuthqa Islamic Seminary continued, saying, “In Pakistan, not even 5% of the people pay taxes and even if they give it, the government cannot use it for welfare work because there is corruption. Administrations come and inflation continues and they leave the Pakistan economy indebted and this has continued for the past 70 years. The Pakistani government pleases sometime the United States and other times, the Arab monarchies and our politicians have to dance to the tunes of other countries and then they throw some money, especially from the Arab countries. This is not worthy for the Pakistani nation.”
He stated, “Today the Pakistani community has received the impression that they are beggars. When [the President of the United States] Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia, 18 diplomats from Pakistan went there. Our Prime Minister [Imran Khan] also went. He was made to sit in one corner where he was not seen at all. The world looks at us as beggars. To establish an economy by begging is the most disliked economy.”
He also referred to the target killings which have increased in various cities in Pakistan and said, “Shi’ahs are being attacked in various places, especially in Quetta. In Karachi, the famous scholar of Pakistan, Mufti Taqi Uthman was attacked but he survived. This is a sign for Pakistan as well as Karachi. In Dera Ismail Khan, the security situation has been very disturbing for Shi’ahs. There have been pamphlets thrown and both terrorists and police are attacking the Shi’ahs but we don’t know why the government isn’t taking any steps in this regard.”
In regard to the floods in Iran, Hujjat al-Islam Naqvi said, “We pray to God to grant salvation to all the victims of flood.”
His Eminence referred to Trump’s recognition of the Golan Heights as being under Israeli sovereignty and said, “Trump’s announcement creates tension in Middle East. The Golan Heights is the mountainous region of Syria which Israel occupied in 1967. The Arabs would attack Israel to free Palestine but Israel would defeat them and Israel captured certain parts of their land. The Sinai Peninsula was also captured by Israel, Palestinian lands were occupied, part of Jordan and even Lebanese territory was taken by Israel. In Lebanon, Hezbollah has liberated Lebanese territory from Israel and only one small village is under Israeli control. The Golan Heights is a strategic territory. Damascus is in the range of Golan Heights. The United Nations has declared that Israel is an usurper and asked them to end their occupation of the Golan Heights. Trump’s recognition is a disgrace for all Muslims and specifically for Arabs.”
He referred to the events in occupied Palestine and said, “In regard to this situation, Israel has brutally attacked the Gaza Strip but the people of the Gaza Strip are still are showing perseverance. Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi [the President of Egypt] has reportedly sent a delegation from Egypt to the Gaza Strip to stop the ‘Return to Land’ movement which takes place on the border on every Friday. This is the work of the Arabs. Look at the plans of Israel and look at what the Arabs are thinking. Oman, under Sultan Qabous, has sold all its airbases and seaports to the United States. This selling of all airbases and seaports is the preparation for the upcoming war against Iran.”
Hujjat al-Islam Naqvi also referred to the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir and said, “There is suffering in Kashmir and the Gaza Strip and the suffering in Kashmir is more severe. Israeli troops don’t enter every home in the Gaza Strip but in Kashmir the Indian forces barge into homes, molesting women, insulting people and arresting them. They are arresting important personalities and there is great fear in Kashmir and in the situation where there is no support for Kashmir, it has become difficult for Pakistan to raise its voice. The moment Pakistan raises its voice, India puts Pakistan under international pressure. It’s through resistance that the Kashmiri people will achieve salvation.”
