RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi offered his condolences on the martyrdom of General Qasem Soleymani on January 3rd, the death of a number of citizens who died in a stampede during the martyr’s funeral in Kerman on January 7th, a plane crash near Tehran on January 8th and a bus crash on January 9th.
The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran referred to the achievements of General Soleymani before his martyrdom and said, “For more than twenty years Haj Qasem was the commander of the Qods Force and his support for the growth and power of Hezbollah is considered to be his achievement. The arrogant powers in the world are furious because due to General Soleymani and people like him, Hezbollah rose up and defeated the Zionist regime.”
Referring to General Soleymani’s support for the Palestinian struggle, especially in the Gaza Strip, he added, “Among his other achievements that shook the arrogant powers and established the power to confront the enemies in Palestine, supported the oppressed and defeated and attacked the extremist and Daesh movements.”
Ayatollah Arafi considered defeating the “New Middle East” plan as one of the great achievements of General Soleymani and stated, “The failure of the occupiers’ plans to divide the Islamic world was the result of General Soleymani’s resistance and the valiant youth of the Islamic Resistance Axis.”
The jurisprudent member of the Guardian Council stated, “With the blood of Martyr Soleymani, the oppression, the terroristic nature and the violation of rights and laws by the United States became clear to the world and the foundations of the friendship between the Iranian and Iraqi people and solidarity with the Islamic Resistance Axis were furthered and strengthened.”
He said, “The enemies must not think that because they assassinated Haj Qasem Soleymani in the middle of the night, our shouts will be extinguished. Our people remember the message of Imam [Khomeyni] in accepting the [United Nations Security Council] Resolution 598 when he said ‘keep your anger in your hearts and one day, empty this anger on the heads of the arrogant powers of the world.’ The blood of Martyr Soleymani has fueled this anger and it will descend on the enemies.”
Ayatollah Arafi referred to Iran’s response to the United States’ act of terrorism and added, “For the first time in the Islamic world, a country dared to attack the military bases of the American terrorists with missiles. This achievement of the Iranian people, the greatness of the blood of Martyr Soleymani, the Islamic discourse and the Islamic Revolution were manifested in the defensive and military power of Iran. For the first time the United States was subject to a direct blow from the Iranian nation in defence of its dignity and history will never forget this.”
His Eminence stressed that the path to reconciliation with terrorists was closed and added, “Governments and movements in Iran and around the world know that terrorists can’t be compromised with. Their language is the language of force and that the extraordinary power of missiles and your great faith can dignify society and you must pursue the dialogue of resistance.”
