RNA – Mawlawi Nazir Ahmad Salami spoke at the farewell ceremony for Ayatollah Mohsen Araki as the secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and the introductory ceremony for Hujjat al-Islam Hamid Shahryari, the new secretary-general, at the former embassy of the United States in Tehran on December 25th and emphasized the importance of directorship for institutions and invited the Muslim world toward unity, especially in an era of abundant challenges and sedition against the Islamic world.,
The Iranian Sunni cleric said, “The joy and transfer of experience are among the benefits of this change.”
He added, “Many years of communication and experience of the former management can be used by the future management.”
Mawlawi Salami stated that the management of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has great importance and said, “Today the enemies are striving hard to divide Muslims and create dissension. For this reason, it’s not easy to administer an organization that invites the Islamic Ummah toward unity.”
The member of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought added, “As the three former secretary-generals of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Taskhiri, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki and Ayatollah Mohammad Vaezzadeh-Khorasani were successful in their duties. We pray to God that His Excellency, Hujjat al-Islam Hamid Shahriyari, will also succeed in his endeavours.”
Addressing the new Secretary-General, he said, “Just as we have cooperated with the previous three secretary-generals alongside [Iran’s] Islamic system of government to create unity in the past, we Sunni Iranians will also seriously cooperate with the new secretary-general.”
Mawlawi Salami stated that the status of the University of Religions and Denominations, which is under the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, has great importance and said, “If the secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought strives to advance the goals of this university, this university and the World Forum, in cooperation with each other, can move closer to their intended goals and meet the objectives of the system.”
