Ayatollah Sa’idi emphasized that the Iranian people demonstrated their insight by separating themselves from the rioters and participating in the widespread marches that are being held in all provinces of the country in support of the Islamic Revolution. RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi referred to the protests over the increased price of gasoline in several Iranian cities over the past week and said, “Some people have created an uproar over the past several days and engaged in riots. Although similar events have occurred since the Islamic Revolution, they have been small and quickly neutralized but they have had complications.”
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah stressed that the energy carriers in Iran are the cheapest in the world and said, “According to the fifth development plan, it was predicted that the price of gasoline would be gradually increased in such a way that it doesn’t put pressure on the people and cause inflation but it was not enacted.”
He said that just as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei) considers the method and tradition of the late Imam Khomeyni, he also considers supporting the expert decision of the three levels of government to support public opinion as a necessary issue, and for that reason, the Supreme Leader expressed his support for the decision of the three levels of government.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi emphasized that according to Islamic and national law, the decisive positions of the Supreme Leader are the final decision in all cases and added, “Experience has demonstrated that following the commandments of the Supreme Leader are in the best interest of the administration of the country and the people.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader in Qom emphasized that the Iranian people demonstrated their insight by separating themselves from the rioters and participating in the widespread marches that are being held in all provinces of the country in support of the Islamic Revolution and said, “The insightful and revolutionary people of Qom announced their allegiance to the ideals of Imam Khomeyni and martyr in the marches which occurred yesterday [November 21st] in which they renounced the United States and the United Kingdom.”
He praised the sincere and revolutionary actions of the people in support of the country’s security and stated, “The massive conspiracy to launch turmoil, riots, create a security war and spread it, the destruction of public and private property was foiled and the security and law enforcement forces and the timely presence of the people and the Basij forces neutralized the conspiracy.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “Just as it’s obvious, the enemies have intensified their comprehensive economic war against the Iranian people. The strategy of achieving victory over the enemies lies in the realization of the strategy of protecting national production and entrepreneurship. Although, this strategy is important to circumvent the sanctions, it also has a tactical aspect.”
His Eminence said that we must strengthen our internal policies so that even if the sanctions are lifted, we won’t be harmed by moving forward and relying on internal policies and added, “There are many capacities within the country, and if we can use them, threats and sanctions will be turned into opportunities.”
