RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi said that the wishes of the enemies and ill-wishers to secularize the Islamic Seminary and distance it from politics will be taken to the grave and stressed, “The Islamic Seminary is and has been a supporter of the Islamic system and a strong proponent of Wilayat al-Faqih [Guardianship of the Jurisprudent] and is ‘hard against the faithless,’ the arrogant powers and the aggressors.”
The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah offered his condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq and referred to the Pahlavi regime’s brutal attack on the Feyzieh Seminary and added, “The mourning commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Sadiq was held by the late Grand Ayatollah Mohammad-Reza Golpaygani and the attack on this source of emulation was an insult. The ruthless tyrants of the Pahlavi regime murdered a number of seminarians and with these actions, the imperialist regime dug its own grave because they assumed they would achieve their goals through terror but due to the management of the late Imam [Khomeyni], their goals were defeated.”
He stated and said that from the beginning, the clergy has hated the enemies of religion and said, “During the era of the tyrants, the executioners of the imperialists demonstrated their hatred by attacking the seminarians and today, the ill-wishers of religion demonstrate their hatred towards the noble clergy through the media, internet and anti-religious networks through the same motives.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “Just as the tyrant Pahlavis didn’t achieve anything with their flagrant behaviour, certainly, those who continue their movement are disgraceful and won’t achieve anything.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader in Qom commemorated the Goharshad Mosque rebellion in July 1935 and said, “This incident was a manifestation of the zeal of the clergy and the people of Mashhad in protecting the sanctity of Islamic jurisprudence, especially the hijab, but the criminals of the Pahlavi regime didn’t protect the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Ridha and shot at the people.”
His Eminence added, “Removing the hijab was one of the main goals of Reza Khan to eliminate Islam. Today, writers and speakers must be careful about their words and must not fuel the flames of Islamophobia. The phrase ‘forced hijab,’ that some have put forward, has Islamophobic pretexts because the hijab, like the daily prayers and fasting, is one of the divine laws of Islam, and one cannot talk of Islam and oppose the divine decree of hijab.”
Referring to the recent statements made by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Tehran’s Imam Hoseyn University, the Supreme Leader emphasized upon resistance and perseverance and in a realistic analysis, he said that the cost of surrendering to the enemies is far greater than the cost of resistance.”
The Friday prayer leader of Qom added, “The enemies of the Iranian nation are seeking to defeat the resistance of the people and undoubtedly, they are pursuing the same goal through sanctions. On the eve of the fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Iran’s sworn enemies have declared in dismay that they will not allow the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the Revolution. For many years, the enemies contemplated launching plots and everyone must recognize the enemies and monitor their movements.”
He emphasized upon the vigilance of all classes of people against the enemies’ movements and said, “The merchants know that people are sympathetic to them and know their problems, the merchants have the power of analysis and they don’t allow the enemies to ride the wave. The merchants must realize that they have the right to protest but must never give the field to the enemies.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “Experiences and realities have demonstrated that negotiations with the enemies wherein hostility and wrath in their speech and behaviour is obvious is useless. If until yesterday some of the sceptics assumed that a knot would be opened through the negotiations but today they know that negotiating with the treacherous enemies is a waste of time and is in vain. For this reason, when the letter of surrender and abjection was issued by one hundred people, the elites condemned the political events in the country and thus, looking at the internal issues and the abilities of society, in particular, the youth and resistance, is the solution to this issue.”
His Eminence said that the Islamic Resistance demonstrated its effectiveness and success in Iran, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and elsewhere and the eight-year-long Sacred Defense [Iran-Iraq War] is an example of its successful implementation of the remedial prescription of looking at internal issues and the Resistance.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi said that resistance has, had and will continue to have a cost throughout history, a nation which wants honour and greatness must voluntarily pay its costs and added, “Just as the Iranian nation has paid for these expenses and provided thousands of martyrs and veterans until now, the people will become proud and enemies will be defeated.”
Referring to the dangers of the acceptance of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), he said, “The FATF is a financial institution that defines its special function in combating money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism but their definition of terrorism of the Islamic Resistance Front is Lebanon’s Hezbollah and its likes. As such, Iran, if it signs this agreement, will be required to record all of its financial transactions which will be available to the enemies of Islam.”
He added that, by signing the FATF, Iranian banks will become executive agents of the sanctions of the United States Treasury Department. The targets of these sanctions are institutions such as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Corporation, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Intelligence and a number of other individuals and institutions.
“With the implementation of the FATF, Iran’s monetary relations with the regional resistance groups will be effectively cut off and the United States and the Zionist regime will be able to achieve their sinister goals in the Muslim world by supporting terrorist groups,” he said.
Ayatollah Sa’idi emphasized that Members of Parliament, who must be the essences of the virtues of the nation with their faith and by following of the Commander of the Faithful [Imam Ali], who said that they must help the oppressed and deal with the wrongdoers, the MPs must be careful not to be subjected to the influence of intimidating governments or follow the arrogant powers of the world and they must act according to their revolutionary duty and their oaths as the representatives of the people to protect the Islamic Revolution and the interests of the ummah without fear of any state or authority.
