RNA – Shaykh Nadi al-Badri, a scholar from Egypt’s renowned Sunni institute of learning, al-Azhar University, has sent a letter to the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn in regard to the deadly terrorist attack which occured in the holy Iraqi city of Karbala on Tuesday, which was the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
At least five people lost their lives and 11 others were wounded after a car bomb exploded in central Karbala, near the house of Karbala Governor Aqil al-Turayhi, on June 7.
In a statement later in the day, the ISIL Takfiri group claimed responsibility for the attack.
In a letter to Sayyid Jamaluddin Shahristani, the Public Relations Officer of the Shrine of Imam Husayn, Shaykh al-Badri condemned the bombing and offered his sympathy to the people of Iraq and the holy city of Karbala and added that the perpetrators of this bombings are the descendants of Hurmalah and Shimr, who massacred the children of Imam Husayn.
In the letter, Shaykh al-Badri wrote:
To all the people of Karbala and scholars in the Holy Shrine of Imam Husayn and other friends and brothers in the dear city of Karbala,
In regard to the young and innocent children who were martyred on the path of truth…
Hurmalah and Shimr are still busy killing and slaughtering the people and children of Imam Husayn for entertainment…
Let all people see what they did with the children of Imam Husayn in Karbala because people sometimes read something do not believe it and sometimes hear the story, but believing in it is difficult.
They say Shi’as are a people of exaggeration and like to engage in self-flagellation and cry and be sad and do not get tired of it.
Now, all together we request from God Almighty: Oh Lord! Accept this sacrifice from us and join them with the Quran’s of Zaynab and Husayn!
Until the people know that each and every day is Ashura and every land is Karbala!
Oh God! Join us with the martyrs of Husayn and the fathers and mothers of the martyrs of Husayn!
Oh God! For the sake of the innocent children and for the sake of their pure blood and for the right of the zeal that you have for them, curse these disbelieving and immoral murderers and distance them from your mercy!
Oh God! Anyway that you desire, take revenge for us on the oppressors so that it is a source of consolation in the hearts of the believers!
The best Lord and Helper! Bless Muhammad and the Progeny of Muhammad!
And offer our condolences to our Master, the Master of the Era [Imam al-Mahdi]!
Oh God! Hasten his reappearance and through his appearance, remove the grief and sorrow of this community!
