Ayatollah Ka’bi considered the month of Ramadan as a great opportunity for self-improvement and excellence of human beings and emphasized the need to make the most of this valuable opportunity. RNA – Speaking on Rasa News Agency’s special “Virtual Minbar” program, Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi, a prominent teacher in the Islamic Seminaries of Qom, offered his congratulations on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and explained the importance of this blessed month of fasting and prayer and described it as “the month of self-cultivation, tahajjud (night prayer), enlightenment with the Quran, worship, night vigil and a great opportunity for self-development.”
The representative of the people of Khuzestan province in the Assembly of Experts considered the holy month of Ramadan as a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the civilized manifestations of Islam in order for human beings to reach the peak of perfection based on self-control and self-cultivation by strengthening their relationship with God.
Ayatollah Ka’bi said, “It has been narrated that you should not say that Ramadan came and Ramadan went. This narration refers to the fact that we should not underestimate the holy month of Ramadan and be prepared for this month in advance.”
His Eminence added, “This month is the month of the feast of God and naturally the feast of God means that man is in the presence of God and reaches the highest point.”
He emphasized, “In terms of instinct, nature and disposition, man is between two infinities, one of which infinitely brings man to the brink of savagery and even higher than the threshold of savagery and the other infinite brings man to the peak of excellence, evolution and growth.”
Ayatollah Ka’bi said, “If man doesn’t have a program of self-control, he will certainly be inferior to animals. Liberal civilization in the contemporary world demonstrates the spirit of man minus God in spite of the seemingly civilized savages. The holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the civilized manifestations of Islam in order for human beings to reach the peak of perfection based on self-control and self-cultivation in the contemporary world.”
