Hujjat al-Islam Montazeri said, “The Coronavirus can’t be eradicated in the country unless there is a great national resolve behind it.”

RNA – During these fateful days wherein the country is suffering from COVID-19 (Coronavirus), many religious scholars and clerics are advising the people in relation with this virus and to accompany the authorities in order to eradicate the epidemic.

These days, the Coronavirus has become the world’s foremost subject in the media, as well as the subject of the people’s discussions around the world and is a contention that has engulfed many parts of society.

The magnitude of this great humanitarian catastrophe has affected nearly 125 countries and is increasing day by day throughout the world.

However, research and medical teams continue to work to contain the deadly virus worldwide, and this epidemic will undoubtedly be contained in the near future, but it will take time.

Iran is also known for being one of the countries with the highest incidence of the virus and unfortunately since the outbreak of the virus, we have witnessed that approximately 14,000 Iranians have been infected and more than 420 deaths.

Therefore, it requires that the society and the people, along with the government and the Islamic system of government, have a smart response to the virus so that we may witness the eradication of the virus in the country and the world.

However, the people have the most important role in the fight against the Coronavirus and without doubt, the failure of the people to accompany them can never help the authorities and the government officials to overcome this virus.

Hujjat al-Islam Hasan Montazeri, the head of the Great Islamic Centre of Western Iran, said, “The Coronavirus can’t be eradicated in the country unless there is a great national resolve behind it.”

His Eminence added, “The people must help the officials in the fight against Coronavirus by staying at home and avoiding going out and about, having guests over and so on.”

He noted, “At present, much of the country’s capacities has been involved in combatting the virus and we have witnessed about sixty physicians die in the fight against the virus, according to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.”

Hujjat al-Islam Hasan Montazeri said, “If we don’t want the Coronavirus to do more harm to the structure of society, we must all comply with the health warnings because we are all part of society and all of us have a duty to fight this virus.”
