RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Hojjat Salari-Makki, the director of the Islamic Seminaries of North Khorasan, referred to the prevalence of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the country and emphasized the need for the observance and special attention to health and spiritual tips and advice during these days.
The Iranian cleric said that these days, the people in the country have important concerns regarding the Coronavirus and added, “There are a few issues that come to mind that we all need to be concerned and careful about.”
He added, “In verse eighty of Surah al-Shu’ara (The Council) we read, “And when I get sick, it is He who cures me.”
Hujjat al-Islam Salari-Makki stated, “One of God’s signs is that if a person becomes ill, healing is in the hands of God but we must also observe the health tips and the principles of personal hygiene.”
His Eminence noted, “No religion has emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and the washing of hands and the regularity of human health as much as Islam. As an example, we find that Islam has ordered the washing of hands before and after meals.”
He said, “Nowadays, as the country is tackling this sinister virus, it’s important to observe the health tips recommended by the country's health authorities.”
Hujjat al-Islam Salari-Makki added, “For this reason, we need to be more careful in this regard, and alongside encouraging those around ourselves, we must also encourage our children, families, coworkers and others to observe these issues in order control these issues as soon as possible and to ensure the health of the Islamic community.”
He stated, “Of course, alongside personal hygiene, spiritual and mental health is what we always need these days and in particular, we need to pay attention to our spiritual health.”
Hujjat al-Islam Salari-Makki said, “In order to deal with the Coronavirus, we need to pay attention to spiritual health in addition to our personal hygiene tips and recommendations.”
